Dr. Bright attended the University of Miami in Miami, Florida, graduating as a Doctor of Medicine with Research Distinction. He completed his internship in general surgery at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, followed by an orthopaedic residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center, also in Baltimore.
Board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Bright is a past President of the Florida Orthopedic Society and the Sarasota County Medical Society, an oral examiner with the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, past Chief of Surgery at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, and served as Chairman of the Membership Committee of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr. Bright is happily married to Dr. Rose Bright, and they have four children. In his spare time, he enjoys competing in triathlons and marathons, as well as mountain biking, sea kayaking, and tennis.
He's also an active volunteer, completing numerous fundraising projects and donating his time and expertise to worthwhile causes such as the Community Clinic at Sarasota Memorial, treating orthopaedic patients who otherwise couldn't afford competent care.
